HiiU will have to scrach hard to field a team owing to Berry and Ifunne being on the injured list, and Burton, Allison, and possibly Cassidy not being available. Shadlock, who played so well against University, has gone overseas, thus leaving yet another vacancy to be filled.

With leads of four, four and five points respectively, the Fourth B, Fifth and Sixth grade teams are assurfed of championship honours, subject to proof of age. No difficulty is anticipated in this connection.

In glancing through the record of individual scorers for the Fourth I? teams, one Is struck by the number of tries scored by the inside backs, Grant, Hare and Jaeger, who between them have notched 35 tries. Jaeger to date his scored 117 points, made up of 17 tries, 21 conversions and eight penalty goals.

Hon. members are signing up at a steady rate, although the objective of 200 is yet some distance away. Last year'B members are urged to renew their subs, as early as possible.

Burton and Cassidy will be going overseas very shortly, and it is proposed to farewell both players this week. There must be many supporters who would like to contribute towards presentations to these players, who have" rendered fine service to the club. A list has been opened at Mr. H. Skilton's, King George Theatre Buildings, for the purpose of receiving donations. At the moment it is not possible to fix the night of the farewell, although the tentative date is the 23rd August (Saturday), at 8 p.m., in the gymnasium. All club members, honorary as well as active, are asked to attend. Confirmation of the dste should be ascertained from the secretary, phone 60-443, or the chairman, phone 63-009.

Cole, the youthful senior forward, has been accepted for service in the Navy, and proceeds to the training base at Auckland next month.

All supporters will have learned with much relief that Geo. Phillips, who was reported wounded and missing, has now been reported prisoner of war. It is nice to know also, that Lieut. Collins, son of one of our staunchest supporters, Mr. C. G. Collins, a vice-president, has also been reported alive and well as a prisoner of war, after having been reported missing since the Crete operations., Lieut. Collins is a nephew of Colonel Tom King, who was actively connected with the club for so many years.
