TO TAKE UP POSITION IN, LfTWEU HUTT MR. A. E. du TEMPLE "A representative Rugby player in Auckland, South Auckland and Pukekohe, and secretary of the Pukekohe Rugby Union for three years, and past secretary of ' the South Auckland Uftion." This sums up Mr. E. A. du Tem-j pie's association with Rugby foot-1 ball during the past few years, remarked Mr. W. G. Patterson, president of the Pukekohe Rugby Union, at a farewell gathering in honour of Mr. du Temple last week (states the "Franklin Times" of February ">.) Mr. Patterson said that Mr. du Temple was leaving Pukekohe for Lower Hutt to take up a position as superintendent with the A.M.P. Society. He referred to Mr. du Temple's active participation in the Rugby game in Pukekohe, as player, administrator and coach, and he hoped that when he stepped on Wellington soil he would continue to take a keen interest in the game, for during the next lew years at least Rugby and other games would experience a lean period. Senior players were volunteering for acive service and many clubs would find it difficult to field senior teams. Mr. Patterson, on behalf of the Rugby Union and clubs, presented Mr. and Jrfrs. du Temple with an oak Westminster chiming clock and Mr. du Temple with a fountain pen as tokens of appreciation of their senses to Rugby In this district.
