SILVER WEDDING

On the occasion of the silver wedding of two well-known Lower Hutt residents, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Gearing, a number of their friends took a jolly "surprise party" to their home in Mills Road on a recent Saturday evening. A happy and informal time wa3 spent in games and dancing, and at ' supper Mr. S. H. Willis, an old friend of the "bridegroom's", proposed the toast to the guests of honour, and made a presentation on behalf of those present. Mr. B. S. Knox was M.C. An enjoyable celebration ' concluded most appropriately with the singing </. "Auld Lang Syne." Mr. and Mrs. W. D.
