DE LUXE HOHNER MOUTH ORGAN COMPETITION.

K A large audience was present at the Do Luxe Theatre last Saturday afternoon to 'Witness the opening of the mouth organ competition now being con ducted at that popular house. Very keen interest was displayed, and judging by the hearty applause which each item gained, the efforts of the performers were thoroughly enjoyed. . T,ho purpose of this contest was to sclcct the finalists from among boys under sixteen years, and one can fully appreciate the difficult task which confronted the judge when one considers how really good the majority of the competitors were. However, the decision reached by the judge was, without question, an absolutely fair and impartial one. Truly outstanding performances were given. by three boys who weTC called upon to appear at the final contest. The efforts of three other lads were so exccll'ent that upon further deliberations the judge decided to include them among the finalists of their class, and all will 'be advised by post as to when they will be required to compete for the trophies. Owing to the comparatively small number of entries received from girls, it has been decided to hear this class next Saturday afternoon in conjunction with the one already mentioned. It is thought that this arrangement will lend added interest to the contest, and at the same time expedite the Teaching of final decisions. The contest to be held next Saturday afternoon will be for male players of sixteen yeans and over. A big list of entries, has 'been received and it is anticipated that some unusually fine talent wall bo revealed, so a keen and particularly interesting contest may con fidently be looked forward to.
