At the ski sports of the Tramping Clubs of the Wellington district held at Kiine llut ou the top of the Taruruas recently, Miss Edna (Smith of Waterloo Road, won the women's sladoin. Contributions of cakes, sweets, jams, vegetables, etc., will be gratefully accepted by any member of the committee. The monthly meeting of the Knox bran:-h of the I'.W.M.IL, was held on Thursday last. The speaker for the atternooiL was Mrs Bandinet of Welling ton who spoke on her experiences when a deaconess. This work is of great value to the ministers of city churches as it enables them to find out the needs of .many that otherwise they could not hope to know. Many humorous and many pathetic incidents in the life of a deaconess were spoken of by the speaker' in a most interesting manner.
