As will >be seen from our advertising columns the Boulcott School Committee are holding a jumble sale oil Saturday next at the school. The sale commences at 2.30 p.m. A good response has been made to the appeals of the ladies' committee not only with "jumble" lines but also cakes and product; .which will be offered at bargain prices. The annual meeting of the Moera branch o,f the League of Mothers, will be held in the Community Hall on Tuesday, 10th August. A full attendance is requested. The annual meeting of the Lower Hutt branch of the League of Mothers will be held in the Horticultural Hall 011 Thursday, August 12th, and a special feature of Uie afternoon will be the programme of music presented b) the 'branch ichoir.
The August meeting of the Lower H-.itt Townswomcn's Guild 1 , promises to be of particular interest. Miss Mary G - .iliam, who was a teacher iji India, will give an address on "The Awakening of India's Women," and Mrs A. B. W. Ross will give a demonstration in glove making. Considerable interest has been displayed by the women c-f the Valley in the activities of the guild, particularly in the formation of the drama, handcraft and singing circles. Intending members are assured of a happy and interesting afternoon. Mrs, Noel Taylor's Giee Club and pupils, will give -a concert in aid of the
(Karitanc Hospital in the Wesley Hall, High Street, on Wednesday evening next. A bright and attractive programme has 'been arranged.
