CROQUET.

A very enjoyable closing afternoon was held indoors owing to the rain recently by members of St. Augustine's Croquet Club and their friends. The trophies won during the season were presented by the President, Rev G. V. Gerard: A grade championship, Mrs Falder; B grade championship, Mrs Hobbs; C grade championship, Mrs May; handicap singles. Mrs Falder; who has been club captain for eight years, of a handsome candlestick, as a token of appreciation of her services. Amongst those present were Mrs McKenzie (Mayoress) and Mrs Gerard, vice presidents, and Mesdames Bryan, Ryder, and^Jones, foundation members. Competitions won during the afternoon. were as follows: Quoits. Mrs Gerard; slogan, M'ss Wale; putting, Mrs Gerard and Miss Wale; ladder, Mrs Ryder; consolation, Mrs Benge. | Trophies were donated by Mrs Falder, Mrs Whitham and Mrs Bryan. NGAROMA CROQUET CLUB Ngaroma Croquet Club closed their season on Tuesday, May 1, in ideal weather and hall-hour games were played during the day. The* president, Mrs Matthews presented the prizes won during the season. The following ladies were tlie winners of various competition.
