CORRESPONDENCE.

AN»LQ—ISRABLJSM. Sir,—-Mr Cox will undoubtedly raise a whirlwind of . letters froßai i the Lower Hutt hotbed of Anglo or t ' British Israeiism. This letter, j. while being one of many (prob-j j ably), may sound a note untouched' ; by others. t During a five months' study of ; this .subject from book and lecture, t I. have been impressed, with several. L very evident.. facts. I enumerate1 them as follows: — : 1-—The strange lack of conclusive I criticism. I %. —That 8.1. Truth erects its struct I ; ture on the Bible, the whole Bible and nothing but the Bible. . 3.—The tremendous weapon 8.1 Truth is for framing beyond all | doubt the truth of God's Word; and for unfolding, even to j Christians, truths hitherto un- : suspected. 4.—The stirring of the people and desire for Salvation. Now it is quite evident that Mr Cox js a student of Scripture, bul} he is far from having more than an inkling of what 8.1. is, and stands for. What are. his conclusions? One conclusion is that 8.1. is a new religion. Another is that Jesus Christ is ousted and one has only to be an Anglo-Saxon to attaitf Salvation. . Now 8.1. is not an 4 has never claimed to be a new religion. It claims to be a latter day. revelation of ancient prophecies, and has for its adherents members of all denominations, and what is- most important, members of no denomination' whatever. A Religious Sect must have a place for worship, and a creed of identification. 8.1. has. neither. Take his second point. I. have yet to read the book or hear the lecturer that does not definitely point out the one simple way of Salvation. There is only one way and that is through Jesus Christi 8.1. not only teaches this but stresses it. Now consider the conclusoins I ,have reached. Why the strange lack of conclus- ; ive criticism? I have studied bothj sides of the subject and while I have not yet reached a positively conclusive belief in 8.1., I am, as I say, impressed with the fact thai the objections raised are quite in 4 •inclusive and readily dissembled. • In regard to my second point I must say that until five months ago I was completely Agnostic. Bychance I read a book on 8.1., andwas so impressed that I undertook! a close study of the Bible in relation! to 8.1. thesis. It was not long before I discovered that the Bible is Cod's Word and that 8.1. might have something in its theory after all: My third point is parti jr- dealt with; above. It can be stressed still further by stating that the 8.1. thesis completely conpounds profound Scriptural Students. Recently a prominent lay-preacher was dis6uss-^ ing the subject with me and he stated that if I could show him that the rending of the Twelve Tribes' into two kingdoms was' God's De-jj sign, that twenty years of Bible , study on his part had gone for no-i thing. Did I prove it from legend! , 'tradition, or secular history? No| right from the Bible itself. i I would suggest to Mr Cox that he makes an earnest study of B.lj 'and" then let us hear more from him' ■• I for one will be pleased to have ' my mind quite definitely settled for ( or against. Undoubtely the proofs ' see overwhelmingly in" favour of 8.1 ( but the Truth itself can only be discovered through earnest study.—- ---> I am etc., K. W. LIDDLE.
