Try a <cup of thick milk in your next curry. . To ripen bananas quickly wrap them well in brown paper and put them, away in a dark place. If iodine is spilt"on a coloured table runner, cover it at once with talcpowder. When the article is wasihed all trace of iodine will be eliminated. Hust on old knives may. 'be entii-ely removed by rubbing the spots with a euit onion and putting the knives aside for a few hours- To keep the steel in 1 good condition when the rust has been removed, use eTnery-poiwder and sweet giL To clean the machine that is working heavily, fill your oilcan with paraffin oil and oil the machine in the ustral'lioles. Then put the machine near the fire and leave for two or three hours. At the end. of that time you will find that the oil has worked.out, but that is now black and full of grit. Wipe the machine carefully and oil with proper machine oil. Paraffin oil or salad .oil must never be used for oiling the machine in the ordinary way.
