The opening of the above cluib took place on Ttaesday, 7th. in»t., and though tihe weather was far from en- > couTagingj there was a good attendance. Mrs. Bock, t3io club's president, welcomed the visitors who were present and introduced Mrs. Austin (president of the Wellington Association), who declared ithe green open. In the course of her remarks.Mrs. Austin congratulated the clulb on the fact that itspresident, Mrs. Bock, had been elected to the position, of deputy handicapper to the Wellington - Croquet Association, and in speaking of the social side of the game, said that frequenitly life-long friendships were formed on the courts.
