H.V. HARRIERS
In response to an invitation f*om Mr E. Hartley, Point Howard, the Hutt Valley Harriers mustered in full force recently.The trail led by Messrs 1 Hartley and Clark provided five miles 1 of good hill work. Owing to the weather conditions many of the runners, became very expert at broadsiding. However, the I- run was thoroughly enjoyed by all. After members had partaken of .afternooi tea Mr Hadley, the president, on behalf of the club thanked Mf and Mrs Hartley ; for their hospitality, which wa^ received by the members- with full musical honours. ; .LADIES' SECTION { The.annual race for the Stella Cup which carries with it the club championship!was Tun 6ver a course of approxiI mately three miles at the Hutt J?ark last Saturday and resulted as follows: — j , MISS J. BBOE ........ •-1 MISS HAWTHORN ~. --~ 2 MISS CABMICHAEL .... 3 Won by 25 yards with Miss Carmichael 100 yds behind. The time 23min. 55sec was very creditable considering the nattoe of the track and the obstacles to be negotiated .Heavy rain fell throughout the race. The Sealed Handicap iesulted in a win for Miss Carmichaei.
