The acting secretary for Trinity College of Music has received c&ibled advice that the Diploma of Fellowship has been awarded to Miss Alice Duff, a pupil of Mrs E. Maekay.

Although the Government Au'dito* elected to pay his annual visit to the office of the Hutit Kiver Board during the time the small staff was engaged on tfte big task of sending out 4748, rate demands for the 1930-31 period, the clerk, Mr; A. J. Gearing, succeeded in posting tine demands seven days ahead of the scheduled time. This prompt despatch reflects great credit on the staff.

A word of warning is issued to those householders who are in the habit of placing the money to pay their milk accounts outside of their door £ot the milkman to collect in tfte early morning. During last week there were -several cases where the money had been stolen. The police have been informed and prosecutions will probably foOloiw.

Those who were privileged to attend the combined meeting of the- Lower Hutt Branch of the League of Mothers last year and hear the inspiring address given by Mr. J. S. Barton, S.M., -will be very pleased indeed to learn that he has again consented to talk to mothers and fathers vand.interested friends on Thursday next, September 25th at 8 p.m in King George Hall. Mri Barton has just returned from a trip abroad and this fact will add even more of interest to an address that we know will appeal to men and women alike. A very heartfelt invitation is extended to all.
