HUTT RIVER BOARD.
The regular meeting of the Hutt Rivter Board was held on Tuesday, 2nd . inst., there being present Mr. P. S. Hewer (chairman), and Messrs Gr. A. Chapman, C. Gtostelow, J. Mitchell. The Board's engineer was also in attenclante. Mr. Chapman reported that hie had interviewed Mt. Haldane In. Tegard to widening of ' Black Greek running .^through Ms property- He was in favour of the request being .granted and he was of tth-e opinion ithat if more residents would attend to their section of creek it would be to general advantage. '■" . . ■■■ .'■■■: . ■ ■•■ ... ; ..■■■ It was decided to dispose of the Board's gas Engine for scrap iron at an offer of £8. Efforts had been made for many years to dispose of the engine, but it was found to (be unsaleable and it was therefore considered advisable to disposie of it rather than continue to pay storage. Plans for the lay out of the site for the Liaing-Meason Memorial were submitted 'by the Lower 'Hutt Borough Council. Mr. Chapman was appointed to attend to the details and lay out of *he ground which will be on that part of t&e stop .bank between the old and the new bridges. It was reported that to date £13/13/----had been received in donations. Since the mieeting a further donation of s£2/2/- has "been received from Mrs J. S. Tumtrall of Timaru.
