GUTTERS FLOW WITH BURNING PETROL.
BIG ATLANTIC CITY BLAZE * (By Telegraplx-Press Assn.-Copyright) Received Sunday, 7.30 p.m. ATLANTIC CITY, July 17. Flaming oil was sprayed on 10,000 spectators when petrol storage tanks exploded, injuring 17u, 38 of whom are in a critical condition in hospital. Many persons were trampled in making an effort to escape through the streets. The gutters flowed with blazing petrol, menacing : : homes in a large area. The fire was extinguished with sand from the . ■ neighbouring sea beach. Fire departments from six cities struggled ‘for a whole day before they extinguished the flames. It was chiefly firemen who were hurt.
