MARTIAL LAW MAY COME IN PALESTINE.
BRITISH GOVERNMENT DISCUSSES SITUATION.
\By Telegraph-Press Assn.-Copyright) Received Thursday, 8.20 p.m. LONDON, Sept. 3. Cabinet yesterday chiefly discussed the Palestine situation. According to the Daily Telegraph’s political correspondent it decided to stand by Mr. Ormsby Gore’s June declaration insisting on the restoration of law and order before the Royal Commission begins its investigation. The Government, it is stated, is not committed to accepting Nuri Pasha s mediation proposals, including the restriction of Jewish immigration, on which the Government arrived at no decision. On the contrary the Government is determined that no concession shall be made to Arab violence. The Morning Post’s political correspondent says martial law may be regarded as a more probable development if the violence campaign persists.
