SUSPENSION OF SELF GOVERNMENT.
NOW A CROWN COLONY,

The duration depends on the people’s co-operation and the extent of their' goodwill declared Governor Charles Bonliam-Cartcr, in announcing the suspensions of self Government, and the substitution of a Crown Colony. The Government with an executive of four ■members, whom the Governor will consult, will be empowered to make the laws.
English Maltese has been made the official language.
