FLIERS ARRIVE.

NEW YORK TO LONDON.

LANDING IN WALES,

ly Telegraph-Preas Assn.-Copyright*

(Received This Day, 9.25 a,m.) LONDON, September 3,

The trans-Atlantic flers Richman and Merrill landed, at Llwyncelyan, Wales. They made a forced landing, but were uninjured and the machine was not damaged. Richman phoned to Croydon saying that they had a perfect crossing, their time being about 15 hours. He hopes to get refuelled and leave for Croydon to-night. Richman later said he flew at about 11,000 feet. He did not see the Atlantic for more than an hour at a time and must have averaged about 210 miles per hour and sometimes they were doing 250 miles. The machine went into a steep nose dive halfway across and we were both thrown from our seats and had a hard struggle to regain control. We lost 3000 feet in height and that ■certainly was a scare. We landed owing to shortage of petrol and circled 1$ hours before finding a landing place. There wera a lot of low clouds and there seemed to be cattle everywhere. The reason for silence was the failure of the radio while trying to talk to London. Croydon is sending two machines laden with fuel to Llwyncelyan.
