SOCIAL AND DANCE.

A. AND P. ASSOCIATION EVENING AT IHAKARA. The Ihakara Hall was on Wednesday evening called upon to accommodate a large gathering of district residents upon the occasion of the social and dance organised in aid of the funds of the Horowhenua A. and P. Association, a most enjoyable function resulting. The proceedings were in the capable hands of Mr A. Hustler, rvho, fulfilling the duties of M.C. kept the dancing in progress with a swing. Excellent music was provided by a professional pianist, with accordeon extras contributed by Mr A... Cottle, while Mr E. Olivecrona’s electric gramophone and loudspeaker installation was an added attraction. At an appropriate interval, Mr S. A. ■Broadbelt, who apologised for the absence of the Association President, Mr 11. J. Lancaster, extended the thanks of the organisers to those present for their support which had ensured the success of the occasion. The supper arrangements were in the hands of a capable committee of ladies who carried out their duties in a most satisfactory manner in the provision of dainty refreshments, and an enjoyable function was brought to a close in the small hours of the morning.
