ACTIVITIES OF FARMERS’ UNION PRESIDENT.

EXCEPTION TAKEN BY WEST COAST CONFERENCE (By Telegranh—Press Association.) GREY MOUTH, Last Night. The West Coast Farmers' Union, at its annual conference to-day, lengthily discussed two remits regarding the political activities of its Dominion president (Mr W. J. Poison, M.P.), and unanimously adopted a remit as follows:—“That the conference takes exception to the .president of the Farmers' Union with regard to party politics in union affairs; also that no member of Parliament is deemed eligible for Dominion president.” It was also resolved to recommend the Government that, in framing its guaranteed price plan, it should see that factories having considerable expense in sending butter to grading stores, should not be penalised. it was also decided to oppose lion. F. Waite's proposal to permit the Dominion president on retirement to remain the Dominion executive.
