AMATEUR SPORTS.
LEVIN CLUB'S BIG MEETING. Undoubtedly the biggest sports meeting to take place on the West Coast this season is promised on Wednesday evening next, when the annual gathering of the Levin Combined Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club will be conducted on the Levin Park Domain. Some sixty visiting athletes and riders, drawn from such .centres as Wanganui, Feilding, Marton, Palmerston North, Pahiatua, Shannon and Otaki, will be present for the occasion, and with the local riders should provide a highly interesting display throughout the full range of thrilling events. A few of the competitors will be J. H. Wade (Wanganui), N.Z. sprint champion cyclist, E. Lawrence (Palmcrston North,) .10 mile West Coast champion, C. B. Wilkinson, holder of the Blakeway Memorial trophy and local champion, and L. B. Burgess (Wanganui), -140 yards West Coast champion and other leading distance runners.
The programme will commence at 8 p.m., the gate charges being fixed at l.s for gents, and (id for ladies.
