New Zealand Youths Stranded in America
TWO MEMBERS OP BYRD EXPEDITION

| NEW YORK, July 11. ! Two New Zealand youths, Cecil Mel- : rose, of Christchurch, and Francis ; Smoothy, of Milton, who joined the ■ Bynl expedition to see the world, face deportation to their homeland unless (the, expedition's management and others interested in the case manage to secure them a passage. For a time theyj enjoyed sightseeing in New York, but now their pay money is exhausted they ' are anxious to return home.
The Brooklyn Young Men's Chamber of Commerce, also the British Consulate are attempting to make arrangements to have them work their way home to prevent the stigma of deportation which would involve staying some time on Ellis Island. Furthermore, it would prevent them from ever returning to America.
