DEALER PAILS IN LIBEL ACTION

(By Telegraph —Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, Last Night.

Arising out of the published report of his presidential' address at the annual meeting of the Southland Building Society, Albert Samuel Froggatt was proceeded against in the Magistrate's Court to-day before Mr W. H. Fresman; S.M., by Frank Holloway, of Invercargill, dealer, on a claim for £SO damages for alleged libel. Plaintiff alleged that a reference to a "rag and bottle collector" meant him, and that it was defamatory.

Holding that the words complainad of were not capable of the defamatory meaning alleged, the Magistrate gave judgment for defendant. Security for appeal was fixed at £lO 10s.
