After three days of solid scoring the cricket match between the touring South African team and Nottingham shire at Nottingham resulted in a draw. South Africa's innings closed to-day at 512 and Nottinghamshire, in their second' innings, equalled their first innings score (31-) for the loss of nine wickets. Altogether 1136 runs were scored although both sides had attacking strength above the average. When play was resumed this mornin"- South Africa had 49(5 runs on the board for the loss of seven wickets but the innings was soon brought to -i close. Wade added only a single to his overnight score of 150 and, with Balaskas unable to bat, there remained only one other wicket to fall. Wade batted four hours and did not make a bad stroke. He hit L'l boundaries, and 330 runs were scored while he was at the wickets.

Nottinghamshire, who were 200 runs behind, lost five wickets for 128 but Heane and Gunn then became associated in a partnership which added 135 [for the sixth wicket.
