CORRESPONDENCE.
The Committee’s activities are not confined to people within the Borough area, for some from Koputaroa, Poroutawhao, Hokio, Ohau, etc., have also, received help. So far as possible care is taken that the more deserving cases come first. In some instances help has been given to applicants to make subsidised purchases. As to the funds, occasionally cash donations are given to us, but latterly the amount received through the Minister of Internal Affairs as part of the proceeds of art unions for the relief of distress, has been the main support, —Yours, etc., C. GOLDSMITH, Mayoress.
