Attempt to Patch Up Wheat Agreement
ARGENTINE EXCEEDED QUOTA
(By Telegraph-Press Assn.-€opyright)
Received Sunday 9.50 p.m. LONDON, May 26
The Wheat Committee is submitting new terms for international collaboration. It recommends that the signatory Governments continue the existing framework until July 1, 1936. It will reassemble >in October. Recognising the failure of the wheat agreement owing to the Argentine exceeding its quota, the advisory committee has evolved a new basis of co-operation which is being submitted to the 21 signatories. No decision will be made until October because the northern hemisphere output for 1935 will not be known before September.
