A message from Annarbor, Michigan, says Jess-.- Owens, Ohio State University negro star, broke three world's records and tied with a fourth at the thirty-fifth Western Conference track and field championships. Owens established a new broad jump record of 2b' feet 8.1 inches, surpassing the performance of Chonici Nainbu, of Japan, in 193.1, by 0 1-S inches. IT? won the low hurdles in 22.(5 seconds, compared with the recognised mark of 23 seconds, and the 220 yards dash in 20.3 seconds, three-tenths of a second faster than the recognised mark. He also won the 100 yards dash in 9.4 seconds, tieing with Wykoff's accepted world record. Another Win for Lovelock" ' Received Sunday, 9.50 p.m. LONDON, May 25. At the White City Polytechnic Har-1 riers' meeting Lovelock (New Zealand) won the mile in 4.13 4-ssec, beating It. H. Thomas's recorder the meeting by five seconds. The Polytechnic marathon from Windsor to White City was won by A. J. Norris (Polytechnic) in 3 hours (i minutes 37 '4-5 seconds. McLeodWright, the holder, was second in 3hrs 51min 23 4-ssec.
