A feature of + he Royal Show yesterday was the wonderful achievement of a New Zealander, Miss Vera Macmillan, in winning the water jump, as it was the first time in the history of the show that a woman had won an event of this nature. It is recalled that Miss Macmillan was seriously injured at the .1925 show, when she crashed at one of the hurdles and fractured her spine and lay prostrate in hospital for nearly a year. Miss Macmillan rode her own gelding, Flying Scout, and registered a jump of 28 feet 9 inches. SALE OF CLYDESDALES. At a sale of Clydesdale stallions at the show yesterday, Mr. J. M. Smith, of North Otago, Now Zealand, .obtained 95 guineas for Stnithfield Slump. Ho also obtained at a sale of Clydesdale mares 350 guineas for. Lady ’s Hope and 120 guineas for Springbank Ella Craig. Mr. W. C. Spray, of Timaru, obtained 125 guineas for a stallion, Hiilfleld Baron.
