SPECTACULAR SERVICE PROMISED FOR SUNDAY, EUCHARISTIC CONGRESS AT MELBOURNE. (By 'i ejegraph--Press Assn.--Copyrighit). Received Friday, 7.15 p.m. MELBOURNE, Nov. 30. Prelates of many nations are now assembled in Melbourne for the opening of the Eucharistic Cohgress at St. Patrick’s Cathedral on Sunday, when Cardinal Macrory will celebrate Pontificial'High Mass in the presence of more than 50 archbishops and bishops. The service promises to be fhe most spectacular ever held in Melbourne and arrangements, arc being made for a congregation of about 25,000 The normal seating accommodation at the cathedral is about 3000, but extra accommodation will be provided and about 20,000 will be able to hear the service in the cathedral grounds, where amplifiers are being installed. Many events for the congress are arranged for next week, including the central feature of the congress, the Eucharistic procession on Sunday.
