RANGITOTO TRAGEDY.
LARGE NUMBER OP PERSONS SCOURING THE COUNTRY. STILL NO SIGN OF THE MISSING MAORI. (By Telegraph —Press Association.) TE KUITT, This Day. Though a large force of police and settlers and Ibusbmen are scouring l the country near the scene of the Rangi■toto tragedy, there is still no trace of the missing Maori. Heavy rain of fifteen hours ’ duration on Sunday night m'akes the task of the searchers more difficult. The area searched is being widened and a careful watch kept on all roads leading to the scene of the tragedy, especially that leading to Otewh, where .the girl with whom the Maori is infatuated lived. Debris left by the'fire have be erf thoroughly searched for fresh evidence.
