At Forest Hills darkness to-day halted play in the United States men's singles tennis championship. Stocfen and Allison were all square, B—6,8 —6, 4—6, 11—9, 6—B, in a quarterfinal to-day, and will finish their match to-morrow.
Frank Parker (Lawreneeville, Virginia) beat Roderick Menzel (Czechoslovakia), 3 —6, 7 —5, 6—3, 6 —2, and Vernon Kilby (South Africa) defeated Donald Budge (California), 4 —6, 6 —4, 6 —4, 6 —4, in fourth round matches today.

In the fourth round of the Ruspoli Cup, Miss Scriven and Malfroy defeated Mile. Barbier and Lesueur, 6 —3, 6—4. Miss Ingram and Stedman defeated Fraulein Deutsch and Metaxa, 6—2, 6—4.

In the Ruspoli Cup, fifth round, Malfroy and Miss Scriven defeated Eiffer'man and Fraulein Friedleben, 7 —5, 6 —o; Gramm and Fraulein Aussem defeated Stedman and Miss Ingram, 6 —3, 6—3.
