AUTO SUGGESTIONS.

Leaking Radiator Caps. Water should not leak, from a radiator cap even when boiling. If it docs it is an indication that the overflow pipe is clogged or blocked, or that the washer of the cap is ineffective. The overflow pipe may !be cleaned 'by passing a strong piece o>f wire through it. If the rubber or fabric washer be damaged it should be renewed. High Speed “Miss.” A car developed an irregular skip at high speed. At medium or idling speeds it disappeared. After a thorough ignition and fuel system check up the trouble was still present. Proparing to remove the distributor for a 'bench test, a mechanic was examining it closely and accelerating the engine when he noticed a heavy sparking at the joint of the manual control rod on the distributor. It was a poor ground connection. A wire soldered on the distributor housing and bolted on the engine block cured the trouble. Tells Which Slips. There is no need to be puzzled as to whether the tardy action of the car is due to a slipping clutch or spinning rear wheels. If one of the rear wheels fails to get traction the car will tend to slue round to one side or the other and the speedometer will register more speed than the car actually develops. No change in the car’s position occurs when the clutch misbehaves and the speedometer remains truthful. Stopping Squeaks.

To eliminate squeaks in the saddle of the rear cross member on Model A Fords drill a 3/32 inch hole through the centre of the tie bolt to ■within 4inch of the head. Then drill from the outside of the bolt through to the centre at the top of the hole. File the bolt slightly on the side where the hole came through, Instal a zerk fitting over the bottom of the bolt and grease with black gear grease. This will lubricate the spring and cross member where the saddle fits so closely. ,
