IHAKARA WOMEN'S INSTITUTE.
The monthly meeting of the Ihakara Women’s Institute was held last Saturday, when there was a good attendance. Mrs Lancaster (President) welcmed all members and visitrs. iMesdames Elliott and Hustler were appointed delegates to attend the Council meeting to be held in Levin on October l'6th. After business had been dealt with Mrs Hensman gave a very able demonstration on tinsel (picture making, which was followed with much interest. She was afterwards accorded a hearty vote of thanks. The points competition, best article made of papier mache, was won by Mrs Spiers, Mrs Doyle was second, and Mrs Elliott third. Miss MoComlb proved the winner in a kitchen article guessing competition. A dainty afternoon tea was then dispensed by the hostesses: Mesdames Hindkman, Horne, iSpicer, Cottle, Gardiner, and Hudson. The singing of the National Anthem closing the meeting.
It was decided that the points competition for next month be tinsel pictures.
