ONE FRUIT OF RECENT CONFERENCE Received Friday, 7.45 p.m. QUEBEC, Aug. B.’ Returning on Thursday from the World Economic Conference, the Canadian Minister of Finance (Mr. Rhodes) expressed the opinion that one great value of the Conference from the Canadian point of view was the closer cementing together or the various parts of the Empire. Advantage was taken of the opportunity for almost constant consultation between the Empire delegation.' “Probably never has the Empire found it possible to act in more wholehearted co-operation or speak with a more unanimous voice on fundamental world problems, ’ ’ he added.
