OVER SIX AND A-HALF MILLION
AUSTRALIA’S POPULATION, (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright ) (Received This Day, 10.0 a.in.) .CANBERRA, Saturday. The preliminary census count shows that Australia’s population, on June 30th was 6,019,059. The Australian census is .usually taken every ten years, the last being in 1921. That due is 1931 was postponed owing to the financial stringency. The population at the 1921 census was given as '5,435,734.
