FLOODS ON WEST COAST.
SIX INCHES OF RAIN IN 48 HOURS. RAILWAY AND ROAD TRAFFIC DISORGANISED. (By Telegraph —Press Association.) GREYMOUTH, Saturday. Heavy rain has fallen throughout ttds district. Six inches was recorded at Greymouth for 48 hours. A railway washout between Ross and Hokitika prevented traffic this morning. A slip near Westport has blocked the coast road till late this afternoon. The approach to the Weinihinihi bridge, on the Otira Road, was washed away. A cow was partly buried by a slip at Rocky Point. The driver was not injured. The weather is now improving. Rugby matches have been cancelled, but in Soccer the Chatham Cup is to be played for.
