Johnsonville Sale

Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., and Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on Johnsonville sale, held on Tuesday, as follows: — There was a very large attendance of buyers to whom we submitted a full yarding of all classes of stock. The beef comprised heavy-weight bullocks, with a few pens of lighter sorts, together with prime cows and heifers and the usual offering of vealers. There was a good dema«id at auction for all classes of cattle, prices showing no alteration on late rates. The sheep yarding was of good quality and competition was keen at prices showing an all-round advance, wethers firming to the extent of Is per •head and ewes up to 2s per head. Lambs were in shorter supply than usual and met with a fair sale. We quote:—
