RADICAL' CHANGE AT NEXT ELECTION
WELLINGTON, Last Night
Some sharp criticism was levelled against the policy of the Meat Producers' Board at a meeting of the Dominion executive of the Farmers' /Union to-day when Mr. A. Dickie moved on behalf of Southland: "That the grading of pur meat be reduced to the grades it is sold in London and that the Meat Board be urged to prol tect the individual producer-exporter from being eliminated as an exporter by the increasing costs thrust on him if lie consigns."— Mr. Dickie said New Zealand meat on reaching the-retail shops in England was lumped. Mr. J. E. Benson (Poverty Bay) said this was just another instance of (the mismanagement of the- Meat Producers' Board which had outlived its usefulness and was lying down on its job. "We intend to see that there will be a radical change in the personnel of the board at the next election," he said. Mr. W. J. Poison, M.P., said he entirely agreed with the second part of the remit He had brought a Bill before Parliament but had failed to get it before the House last session owing to the opposition of the Meat Board. Further criticism of the Meat Board was taken in committee and the remit •was carried.
