Another Unsuccessful Silver Hunt
AUCKLAND, Last Night,
The liner Monowai for Sydney and the cargo steamer Kanna for Noumea, were searched for silver before departure to-day but none was found.
combination was not so strong in this third as with the forwards and defence; but in spite of this fact, when the whistle blew at half-time Levin found themselves in the lead, 9—7. After half-time Miss Bennie, of Palmerston, took the whistle. The combination of the visitors enabled them to gain a lead by 10—9. Little j scoring was recorded during the next ten minutes, Technical not continuing to play so skilfully. Levin made the rnost of the opportunity and ran away from their opponents by not only gaining the lead once more, but by making a final score of five goals ahead of their opponents, Technical only succeeding in gaining one more goal. The Levin girls were noted for the quickness in their passing and the number of long shots which resulted in scores. When the whistle finally blew Levin found that they were victorious, the score being 16—11.
The Levin B team are to be congratulated on their combination, as they had a much harder fight than the A team, and played up to the best of their ability.
