(From shannon “News.”) Personal. 'Mr and Mrs Conchie, who have been resident in Shannon and district for many years, leave for Auckland today where they intend to take up their residence.

Mr J. Murray, who for many years resided in Shannon, has been a visitor durnng the week. Mother and Daughter in Hospital. The eldest daughter of Mr Chas. Eagle, of Yogel Street, fell from a bicycle on Monday and broke her arm in two places. She was taken to the Hospital for treatment. The child’s mother has been an inmate of the hospital for some time, and this accident is an added misfortune. Plaxmill Prospects Better. The management of Mukapai flaxmill at Makerua intend to keep the mill running all the winter. New contracts have been entered into for the supply of fibre. As prices are improving milling generally has a brighter outlook than for some time past. It is also quite possible that Mirinui, Ltd., may open again early in August. Camp at Mukapai.

A camp for unemployed single men has been decided upon at Mukapai mill and about 20 men will be employed stumping and clearing the land, with a view to putting down pasture. Mr Yal Croon has been appointed foreman. The flax land that has been cut will be grubbed, and it is doubtful if it will be replanted.
