TWO MEN COMMITTED FOR TRIAL

INVERCARGILL, Last Night,

Three young men, William Arthur Stewart, George Alexander Parry and Charles Robert McCreath, faced nine charges of breaking, entering and theft, in the Police Court to-day. The offences with which they were charged all took place on the evening of Saturday, April 1, or early on Sunday, April 2. The premises entered included Whittingham’s brewery, three Invercargill service Stations, a store and a hairdresser’s shop at Wyndhara, a garage and a mercer’s shop in Mataura, a service station at East Gore, and a garage at Clinton. The goods stolen were principally cigarettes, petrol and clothing. Parry and Stewart pleaded guilty and were committed for sentence, while McCreath pleaded not guilty and •<vas committed for trial.
