Unemployment Numbers on The Decline at Home

OUTLOOK REGARDED AS ENCOURAGING

British Official Wireless. Received Friday, 7 p.m. RUGBY, May 18

Compared with January, the numbers in employment showed an increase of 249,000. That meant, said the Minister, that in the year under review, when the trade of the whole world had been paralysed by exchange restrictions, and when there had been political disturbances and a monetary crisis in every country, the position in Britain was not only incomparably stronger than a year ago, but he thought the outlook was more cncouraging than for a very long time.
