Coates (Acting Prime Minister) that Sir Francis Bell has been reappointed to' the Legislative Council fqr a further term of seven years (states a-Press telegram received'from Wellington today). William Easton, aged 32 years, of' Margaret Street, Shannon, was admitted to the Palmerston North Public Hospital last evening, suffering from a fracture of the lower part of his left leg, sustained through a kick from a horse. He was reported to be making satisfactory progress. Mr E. P. Geary, who has been a district relieving officer with headquarters at the Levin Post Office for about three years, has been, appointed to the staff of the Poxton Post Office, to fill a vacancy which will shortly be, caused by the transfer of - Mr J. IX McTamney, telegraphist, to Poranga-: ' hau.
