RAYMOND MASSEY.

Raymond Massey was born in Toronto, Canada, in 1896. He was educated at Toronto University and Belli ol College, Oxford. He made his first appearance on the professional stage at the Everyman Theatre in 1922, since when he has played' a great variety of parts on the London stage, and he is now one of Britain’s best known actors. Among his many successful characterisations are the Rev. MacMillan in “An American Tragedy,” Lewis Todd in “The Constant Nymph,” Randolph Galthorpe in “The Black Ace,” and the Editor in “Late Night Final.” Raymond Massey is also a successful stage producer, (and has produced among other plays “ I'he White Chateau,” “The Wolves,” “The Crooked Billet,” and “The Sacred Flame.” He made his talkie debut as Sherlock Holmes in “The Speckled Band,” and has just recently returned from America where he appeared, both in New York on the stage, and played a lead- | ing part in the talkie of J. B. Priestley’s' novel “Benighted,” which is called “The Old Dark House.”
