A BRITISH FILM FOR BRITISH PEOPLE.
When undertaking to make “Sunshine Susie ’ ’ British Dominions Pifms, Ltd., had the set idea of maldng this production not only the super picture which they had long planned, hut essentially a British picture for British people. Recently, there has been an influx of imported Aims, which portray sentiments, customs and other tilings near and dear to other nations. These have possibly been entertaining, but hardly interesting and idealistic to the British film goer, so how mufeh more enjoyable Avould a talkie attraction be that was entirely British? Such is
“Sunshine Susie” which commences on Monday next at the Regent Theatre. This picture is going to take Levin by storm. Never before in the history of the town has so muck happiness descended: all at once. ‘'‘Sunshine Susie,” from the very name alone, exudes rays of sunshine which, when the film is shown, will become embedded in the hearts of all moviegoers, who will definitely and decidedly clamour for more film entertainment along the same lines. Adorable Renate Muller, Britain’s new sweetheart, occupies the stellar role and what a hit she is! Possessing entrancing beauty, a delightful voice and a charming personality, she will capture the hearts of all who see this pic-
ture. Jack Hulbert is a new-comer who provides many laughs with his fooling. The whole film is attractive entertainment, ingenious also, because a musical comedy has been devised with only four principals, which goes at a pace and maintains an interest which is unusual to l find in any film production. Many strikingly catchy numbers are sung by the stars, amongst which are “To-day I Peel So Happy,” the theme song, “I’ve Got an Aunt Eliza” and “Just Because I Lost my Heart to You.”
