.MANAWHENUA v. HAWKE’S BAY ON WEDNESDAY. Manawhenua Rugby representatives will play their first home match of the reason on. Wednesday, when Hawke’s Bay will be the visitors and the Showgrounds at Palmerston the venue. On Thursday last Manawhenua opposed Taranaki at Stratford when a splendid finishing effort enabled the blues to wrest the victory from Taranaki by 18 points to 14. Saturday found Manawhenua engaged at Wanganui, but on this occasion the home team •gained the day, while Hawke’s Bay narrowly lost out against Taranaki in a big scoring game. Wednesday’s meeting between the two losing combinations of Saturday should thus be productive of a keen struggle for supromacy. ■ k The Manawhenua team will be as follows: — Full back: Barrett.
