REGENT THEATRE.
“THE BLUE DANUBE.’’ TO-NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY. Announced as a musical melo-romanco of post-war Vienna, “The Blue Danube,” an all-British special attraction is showing at the Regent Theatre tonight (Tuesday) and Wednesday. The east is of international importance. Headed by Joseph Schildkraut,an Anglo-Austrian actor of fanie, and Dorothy Bouehier, other artists included are Brigitte Helm, the German actress who gave an unforgettable portrayal as the robot woman in the continental film “Metropolis,” Desmond Jeans, actor-boxer known to Australian theatre-goers as Desmond McMinn, ►Nitikins, noted Russian dancer, Lillian Hall Davies, English musical comedy star, and Maurice Bradell.
Three other features of this unusually spectacular offering will be the musical score played by Alf red Rode ’a Tzigane Orchestra —they recently performed by Royal Command at a Buckingham Palace Ball—the almost entire absence of dialogue, and the sensation recording on the Western Electric noiseless system. , Some excellent supp<frting featurettes are included on the same programme.
