A mishap damaged the giant naval dirigible Akron seriously to-day as a Congressional sub-committcc prepared for a test, flight, which the airship’s skipper hoped would vindicate her airworthiness. Throe Navy men suffered bruises and shock. The craft, the largest in the Navy, lurched in a freshening northerly wind and a mooring cable broke, lashing the stern and smashing the vertical fin, which was •ruined.
