KEEN DEMAND FOR LAMBS. BETTER COMPETITION IN ALL SECTIONS. At Levin yards yesterday Associated Live Stock Auctioneers, Ltd., offered good yards of all classes of Stock to a large attendance of buyers. A keen demand .prevailed in all sections, lambs, in particular, meeting with spirited compe'titiqjn. Following are the quotations; — Sheep: Fat ewes, 5/-, 6/6, 7/-; fat wethers, 10/6 to 11/6; fat lambs, 10/3, 11/-, 12/3, 12/5; b.f. rape lambs, to 8/-; good medium do., to 6/9; w.f. lambs, to 7/1; medium do., to 5/9; small do., to 4/-; 2-tooth wethers, to 8/10; fjm. ewes 7/-; forward ewes, 4/3 to 5/3. Cattle: Fat cows, heavy, to £3 Is; light, £2, £2 5s to £2 12s 6d; boner cows, 12s, 15s, 17s 6d to 255; vealers to 20s; weaner heifers, Jersey cross small, 15s to 20s; dairy cows, springing £2 10s to £4; ‘bulls, 30s, 355, £2, to £2 10s. Pigs: Weaners, ss, 6s to 8s; stores 10s, 12s to 15s; light p'orkers 21s, 23s to 255, heavy do., 265, 28s, 295, 30», 31s; baconers, 27s 6d, 30s to 345.
