Reconstruction of German Cabinet

According to the Berliner Tageblatt,, Dr. Bruening is strengthening his Cabinet in preparation for facing a troublesome Reichstag on Tuesday 'next. The paper predicts hat, Dr. Curtins will resign to-morrow, Dr. Bruening,, taking over his portfolio of Foreign Affairs. ’ A new Ministry is being created to settle the unemployed on the land aspart of the plan of minimising the hardships of the coming winter. Five Ministers Will be Dropped, Received -Wednesday, 2.0 a.m. BERLIN, Oct, 6. Dr. Curtius has resigned. It is understood that part of Dr. Bruening’s plan of Cabinet reconstruction is necessitated by thte defection of a section of the Social Democrats. The Minister of the Interior, Dr. Wirth, and three other Ministers are also expected to be dropped. Two Big Canadian Financial Houses Fail Received Tuesday, 9.50 p.m. MONTREAL, Obt. 6. Two prominent financial houses, the-, brokerage firm of Dougal and Gowan’s. and the investment bankers, Greenshields and Co., /failed to-day. Ihe brokerage house was one of the largest in the Dominion, with branches in several cities.
