PAHIATUA SEAT.
MR M. D. SMITH ASKED TO STAND IN REFORM INTEREST.

A large meeting of Reform supporters asked Mr Marcus D, Smith, Mayor of Dannevirke, to accept nomination as Reform candidate for the Pahiatua electorate. Mr Smith stated that he was endeavouring to make arrangements in regard to his private business, and would give his answer in a fortnight. The meeting passed a unanimous resolution to be forwarded to the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, that fusion at the present time would not be in the best interest of the Dominion.
